We have implemented a merit scholarship for the Orthodox students and financial Assistance to seminarians and deacons in our diocese, planning for financial assistance to needy among our members in our diocese and have a plan to help the students in financial aid with your kind co-operation. It is my aim to implement the Centralized salary & transfer system for clergy in our diocese. We studied and made a report and hope it could implement stage by stage with after the election of the Malankara association in March 2012 as the Kalapana should come out from the Diocesan Metropolitan. It needs a fund and a plan is charting out for that to raise the fund. A plan for a very good center for our diocese in a suitable location and regional centers in all regions. The diocese is implementing the Youth Ministers program and Youth ministers are being posting in region wise. As it is the infant stage of the diocese it will take little time to bring the plans in execution and definitely we could achieve that in the 5 year plan. Establish an Orthodox seminary in America with the association of both the American diocese and the diocese of Europe is one of my dreams along with you all. Unified liturgical committee is working to unify the worship liturgies. Social security and pension plans for clergies are consulting with the experts to finalize it. The council proposed a minimum salary for the part time as $1,500 and $2500 for a full time clergy and that could implement by pooling system and we need your kind co-operation to implement it. I shall work to bring the diocese to the progress than driving the fund of the diocese to outside. I have time and experience to work and I am dedicated to serve the Church since my childhood.

Mr Elson Samuel ( Dallas) |
|
|

Let me start this letter with a self-introduction. I am Elson Samuel, currently a member of St.Mary’s Malankara Orthodox Church of Dallas in Farmers Branch, Texas. My home parish is St. Stephens Malankara Orthodox Church in Kattanam (Kattanam Valiya Pally). I request your prayers and whole hearted support to contest in the Diocese Council election as to be one among the lay members.
I started my church activities through Orthodox Christian Youth Movement. I served as a Unit Secretary and then as a group organizer. Also I was a Sunday School teacher in my home parish. Then I moved to Kuwait and I was a member of St. Thomas Indian Orthodox Church in Ahmadi. I was the Parish Secretary as per the Kalpana of late H.G Stephanos Mar Theodosios of Calcutta Diocese and when Rev. Fr. M.J Mathews and Rev. Fr. Abraham Thomas were the Vicars. Then I migrated to USA and became a member of St. Thomas Malankara Orthodox Church, South Florida. I have received an opportunity to serve as the Secretary of this Church too as per the Kalpana of H.G Mathews Mar Bernabas with Vicar Rev. Fr. George Daniel (Benny Achen). Then I moved to Dallas, Texas and joined with St. Mary’s Malankara Orthodox Church of Dallas in Farmers Branch, an ancient Church in USA which was established in 1973. I was elected as the Secretary of this parish in 2010, appointed by H.G Alexios Mar Eusebios, when our new Church building worth $4.5 million was being built. Our vicar is Rev. Fr. Thampan Varghese.
I would like to share my visions for the next five years, if I get elected to the Diocese Council:
1. I promise to work efficiently and effectively with Diocesan Metropolitan, Cor-Episcopos, Achens, Deacons and Church members for the better prospects of our Diocese. Also I will try my best to hold our Church’s tradition and dignity.
2. I will work together with the Diocese officials to implement Clergy’s transfer and decent salary system.
3. Will try to uplift our youngsters to the main stream of church by giving considerable importance to MGOCSM and Focus.
4. We need to have a very good Diocesan Center which includes a Retreat Center, Theological Seminary, Library, individual offices for all Spiritual Organizations etc..
5. Strengthen the regional activities through the elected Diocese Assembly members.
6. We need to strengthen all Spiritual Organizations for participating all age groups including Sunday School, Martha Mariam Samajam, Youth movement, Prayer Meeting, Divya Bodhanam etc..
